The beauty of nature is a gift of God, and as responsible citizens it is our duty to protect this gift by all means. India Power is committed in conserving the natural resources and using them expeditiously to construe minimal damage to the environment.

The Government of India had set up a certification process for a clean energy sector. The purchase of these certificates by the power distribution companies would assist them in meeting their Renewable Portfolio Obligation (RPO) as per the Electricity Act-2003. Solar Power

The Government of India had set up a certification process for a clean energy sector. The purchase of these certificates by the power distribution companies would assist them in meeting their Renewable Portfolio Obligation (RPO) as per the Electricity Act-2003. We have made a significant effect in the solar power area in West Bengal.

A certification process for a clean energy sector has been set up by the Government of India keeping up with the trend of renewable energy. This step was initiated to assist power distribution companies in meeting their Renewable Portfolio Obligation (RPO) as per the Electricity Act-2003 through purchase of certificates.

We were one of the pioneers in the country to obtain RPO certificate by installing 2MW Grid Solar PV Power Plant on 8.3 acres of Company’s own land at Jamuria, which as at the erstwhile Seebpore Power Station in Asansol, West Bengal.

The first grid-connected Solar PV Project in this country was started in this power plant. The plant started generating power from the year 2009.

This was the largest power plant all over South East Asia.

About 3.3 million units of electricity are generated annually from this plant and it facilitates in feeding the distribution grid network of our own licensed area.

India Power has laid the foundation stone in West Bengal in the field of Green Power generation and this was the first model project in West Bengal for harnessing solar energy on a commercial scale.

Wind Power

Wind is the most abundant and technologically green natural resource which can be used to generate power in large scale. The most advanced and commercially viable of all types of renewable energy is the seashore wind power. India Power has successfully used this resource to generate and distribute power all over India, and we have taken a quantum leap in wind power generation with this technology.

Our Company has pioneered the generation of wind power in a massive and effective way in the year 2006.

At present we have a total installed capacity of 95.2MW spread over Gujarat, Karnataka and Rajasthan in India.

We have a goal of establishing a total capacity of 500MW in India by the year 2015.

We are continuously in the process of adding and upgrading our network to enlarge our capacity. India Power aims to reach out to more and more people by increasing our area of generation and distribution.

Hydel Power

The hydroelectricity power is another renewable energy resource which can be used to generate power in large mass. Though this natural resource has begun to get scarce with the increasing population, yet it can be harnessed for the betterment of the environment. We in India Power are in the process of entering this area of renewable energy.

The company is exploring setting up of hydel power station in joint venture with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Meghalaya. This will be one of the most prestigious ventures of India Power.

We aim to make use of this natural resource at its fullest and recycle it to generate power efficiently.

India Power aims to meet the acute shortage of power with this hydel power project in the immediate future.

The hydel power plants will help to recover the energy crisis that our Government is facing at the moment.

In recent past on 30th December 2015, IPCL incorporated India Power Green Utility Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary, with the objective of developing and/ or acquiring assets to build a sizable portfolio of renewable energy production. .
